Best Juice Extractor Reviews

The Black & Decker CJ525 Citrusmate Plus citrus juicer is perfect in its simplistic design and a good buy.

If you need a very simple citrus juicer, this is the one to get. It is inexpensive and works great. The Black & Decker CJ525 Citrusmate Plus citrus juicer is a simple reamer style juicer. It is compact in size and as long as you don't have to do great number of oranges or other citrus, it should suit you fine.

One of the best features of this juicer is the juice falls through a filter into a pouring container. When the container gets full, you can pour it into individual glasses. This is a very handy design that should not be overlooked.

  • Note: You can't put the Black and Decker juicer parts in the dishwasher. They will melt. However, hand washing this juicer is a breeze.

Limes are harder to juice than oranges and lemons. Limes seem to have a thicker and harder pulp. I found that by making small cuts in the pulp area of the lime without going through the rind allowed me to extract more juice with this type of citrus juicer.

  • I will warn you that if you have to do more than a dozen oranges in a row, the palm of your hand is liable to hurt. I used recently a very similar machine, the discontinued Braun MP22 juicer, and after even a half dozen oranges, my hand starts aching. You can place the orange half in the reamer dust cover lid and use that to guide the orange down on the reamer but this gets awkward. If you need to juice a lot of oranges because you have access to an orange tree like I do, I recommend the Breville citrus press instead. Check out the review on that juicer to see why you won't get sore hands and you can juice a lot of oranges fast.

In conclusion, I find this Black & Decker CJ525 Citrusmate Plus citrus juicer to be the perfect citrus juicer for the casual user on a budget.
