Best Juice Extractor Reviews

The Green Star juice extractor GS-1000 is the basic juicer package minus the least used accessories for some of the other food processing options the machine is capable of performing.

The Green Star juice extractor GS-1000 creates the best juice quality second only to the famous Norwalk press. Every Green Star juice extractor and the Green Power Gold GP-E1503 juicer all use a twin gear technology which grinds and presses the fruit and vegetables at low rpm's into juice. This twin gear process produces the highest quality of juice because the produce is not battered by fast spinning blades nor exposed to too much heat. At least this is the theory. (See my thoughts on the juice quality issues.) And at a 1/4 or the price of a Norwalk juicer you are getting the healthiest juicer you can get.

Stuff to know about Green Star juicers:

  • This is the best juicer you can get for your health that's around $400-$600. How much better the juice it creates is than say an Omega 8003 or other dual screen single auger juicer is up for debate. In tests done it has been found to produce juice quality closer to the Norwalk juice than anything else on the market.
  • It is slightly more to clean but not much. There are a few more parts which makes it a little more effort to clean. However, you'll find that all juicers require some amount of cleaning and most are within a few seconds of each other as far as clean time goes.
  • The Green Star juicer grinds up carrots and beets much better than a single auger juicer with the exception of the Champion juicer. In order to fit some vegetables into the juicer you will have to cut them up. The feeder tube is small like the Champion or Omega 8003 juicers. The juicing process for this twin gear juicer is slower than centrifugal juicers.
  • This is an excellent vegetable juicer and very good for juicing wheatgrass and other leafy greens. However, it doesn't do soft fruits well. This is primarily a vegetable juicer. It can juice fruit but not as effectively as some other juicers. On the flip side I agree with many people and feel in general that most soft fruit should be blended anyway. I juice apples, oranges and pineapple occasionally. Just about all other fruit I blend.
  • The twin gears of the Green Star juicers are said to contain magnetic and bioceramic technology. This is supposed to help with extracting more minerals and nutrients from the juicing process. I know from experience that magnets can do some interesting healing. They help move molecules around more rapidly when they are present. (Tape a magnet on a bruise next time you get one. The bruise will go away much faster. Or try taping a magnet to a sore muscle. The muscle will often loosen up sooner because of the magnet.) However, I've noticed that in most cases magnets need to stay in contact with surfaces or subjects for longer time periods in order to help. And they don't help everyone in all situations. I kind of believe that the way they are being used here is having very little effect. In my opinion, it's a neat marketing ploy. But they are definitely not hurting anything either so it is a nice touch.
  • Each Green Star juicer carries a 5 year warranty.

If you are considering a twin gear juicer, I would look only at the Green Star models. Tribest also sells the Green Power Gold GP-E1503 which is their flagship product but I'd focus on the Green Stars. And you might consider looking at the Greenpower Hippocrates juicer which is similiar to the Green Power Gold but again I'd steer back to the Green Star machines. I think they offer more value and product/company stability.

There is some confusion among the twin gear juicers and these above brands and the Super Angel are the only ones I would consider. There have been other similar "knock-off" models that have inferior plastic parts or cheap gears. You'll want to stay away from those or you'll be throwing your money away because these inferior fakes break down and can't be fixed.
